Reminder

Tuesday October 18, 2011

It was an early birthday surprise complete with clues to build the suspense.

This weekend we journeyed to Key West for a little birthday getaway. Although we’ve lived in Florida for a long time, this was our first visit to the Keys.

(The famous Key West roosters...)

It was a luxurious, relaxing time. Yes, Key West saw record rain this weekend, but we got plenty of sightseeing in before it hit. And once the raindrops began to fall, we took to the Hemingway House to see where Ernest penned several of his famous novels.

The reminder? Amidst the rain, fun and relaxation and joy. The wonderful husband who planned this trip has spent a lot of years with me; there have been storms balanced by plenty of sunny days. And as I approach a birthday and look back at my own life, I see sun peeking through the clouds, too.

My reminder from this weekend? He is faithful. (The wonderful husband, but more than that, the One who gave him to me!)

He is faithful -- through rain and storms, His sun shines through.

Love your photos, Laura. As a road trip fan, I especially liked the photo showing the end of US 1. Happy Birthday!

Nice pictures Laura but nicest part was the sweet feelings you have for John and how good it is to hear. I would enjoy the Hemingway house I know. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Clella

Oh, my goodness! What a wonderful birthday gift. Happy, belated to you. It looks like a lovely time, Laura. We've never been to the keys and now I know a wee bit of what I am missing. Perhaps that must go on the bucket list?

Love to you!
