Hallways and Doors

Friday May 31, 2013

Hallways and doors...we pass through them each day.

Sometimes we find ourselves in the hallway longer than we'd like to be, waiting to pass through the next door.

What to do then?

Stay tuned for my #5, this week's quote.

I'm linking up with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story today for Friday's Fave Five, where we share our blessings of the week. Come along with us!

My favorites this week:

1. Summer. Can I just say it again? Summer.

2. A trip! To a writer’s conference. I’m excited to learn and meet and grow, and spend some time with writer friends.

3. Something that made me smile. Maybe it’s just me, but this rendition of The Three Little Pigs a la Shakespeare was great fun to watch.

4. An opportunity. You really never know when they’re going to drop in your lap, and I had one of those experiences this week. More later.

5. A quote:

“Until God opens the next door for you, praise Him in the hallway.”

I can’t find an author for this quote, but I love it. Ever been in the hallway? What a great prescription for waiting—praise Him in the hallway.

Wishing you open doors -- or hallways filled with praise -- this week.

I'm loving the beginning of summer, too! Glad you're getting to go to the writer's conference!

I love that Three Little Pigs rendition. There is a funny one, too, about Shakespearean-style basketball commentators by Ted and Lee (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENNciGJuiuI)

Excited about the new opportunity. And I love that quote - may have to borrow it. :-)

Love the door photo. I'm sure you will enjoy your summer for sure. I'll have to click on your link to enjoy the 3 little pigs after I'm done commenting. Yippee for your opportunity! Have a wonderful weekend.

That is a GREAT quote..but i'm not surprised! you always have the best quotes!! I am so excited about getting out of school...just 15 more days and our last day is the day before summer officially begins!! (we are getting out about 3 days early this year due to not using all our snow days!). That's great that you went to a writers conference....i hope you have a relaxing weekend!

I like the way you've posted the pic of that awesome doorway to illustrate your post and quote.

Yes, I know much about the hallway. Great wisdom in that quote.
Summer?? Oh yeah!
I'll check out the Three Little Pigs--sounds like something I'd like.

I just got my comment bounced out--so this might be a duplicate...
Summer!! Oh, yeah! Definitely enjoying summer here.
Your hallway quote is full of wisdom. Sometimes I feel like I have taken a year's lease on the hallway :)

Kids around here go to school until the end of June. I'm looking forward to summer too, even though I only have a couple of weeks holidays, I like how I don't have to juggle kids in dayhome coming and going with preschool and kindergarten. It's much more laid back and we're not always watching the clock.

Love the picture of the door and the quote.
