Waiting.

Tuesday January 28, 2014

The waiting doesn’t take Him by surprise, you know.

I usually think so.

I have my plans and my ideas and, of course, my calendar.

Sometimes I just wait for His smile to rubber-stamp what I’ve already chosen.

And I forget how He works.

It’s not just in the whirlwind, in the loud “Yes,” in the Jumbo-tron approval from the Master.

It’s in the silence, the space.

For Him, it’s not space. It’s filled with His love and His lessons, lined with His peace.

If I stop…and wait…and look toward Him, I begin to see it.

So I turn from the object of my waiting and step toward Him.

And I rest.

This is beautiful!

"Sometimes I just wait for His smile to rubber-stamp what I’ve already chosen.

And I forget how He works."

So guilty of that! I have been going through the very same realizations that you mention in this blog over the past few months, but you mentioned something so comforting, true, yet I had never thought of it/been revealed this in such a way:

"For Him, it’s not space. It’s filled with His love and His lessons, lined with His peace."

I will be reminding myself of that TRUTH as I continue to rest in Him. Thanks for sharing! Just beautiful :-)

This, "It's in the silence, the space" spoke volumes to me. As I endeavour to make listening to God more of a priority this year, I am learning to make room for the silence and alert my inner ears to hear the Holy Spirit whispers on the wind speaking to my heart.
Thank you for also tackling the topic of waiting and doing it so beautifully! God bless :) x

I so often forget how He works, too. Needed this reminder, friend.
