Hellos and Goodbyes: Friday's Fave Five

Friday April 30, 2010
Thanks for visiting my Friday post. If you’d like to join in to Friday’s Fave Five, visit Susanne over at Living to Tell the Story. We’d love to have you!

In looking over my blessings from this week, I found they fall into two categories – hellos and goodbyes.

1. Goodbye, virus! An awful, nasty, insidious virus struck our computer this week, and knocked us out of commission for most of the week. Yes, we have virus protection, but apparently, some of these things slip by. It took days (and professional advice) to rid ourselves of it. Thank goodness it’s gone!

2. Hello, fence! We have a new fence around our backyard. It’s so nice. My hubby and one of my sons “got to use a cool nail gun,” too. That was their favorite.

3. Goodbye, papers! Yes, those papers I’ve been going on and on about and finished. Oh, it feels good to have all the final papers graded.

4. Hello, Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Stress Relief Hand Cream in Tranquil Mint. I have no problem sleeping, but when I put this stuff on at bedtime, I’d swear I sleep more restfully. Sounds crazy, but it’s great.

5. Hello, my book cover! If you scroll down just a bit to yesterday’s post, you’ll see the cover of my book, to be released in August. There’s even a link to the Kregel Publishing book page where you can read an excerpt! Exciting stuff!!

I can’t help it – this week I have to add a bonus. My youngest had a solo at the school choir concert this week, and I was so proud. He was awesome!

What were your blessings this week?
Thanks for visiting!

I think my blessing this week has been a schedule that finally let up a bit. I feel like I can now take a breath. Liberating... congrats on your book cover. That is awesome! :)

BLESSING ARE ALL HUGS: Hugged my great-granddaughter on three different occasions! Hugged my grandson and his wife! Hugged my Illinois friends! Hugged my wonderful husband. Granddaughter got A on major exam! (I have yet to hug her)

So glad the virus is gone and the papers are graded! I can imagine the relief on both counts.

I've been wanting a fence for years. How neat that your husband and son were able to work on it together.

And I mentioned before but am glad to say again, love the book cover!

Fencing is listed as one of my favorites this week too. :-)

I do not think it crazy that your hand cream helps you sleep better. Whatever works, right?

CONGRATS on the book cover! How very exciting!!

Congrats on the book cover, the new fence and on getting better. We always appreciate our health more after we have been sick, don't we?

Congratulations on your book. That's awesome. I haven't had the pleasure of smelling the mint fragrance from Bath and Body Works yet. I'm still clinging to Moonlight Path. It sounds yummy.

Glad ya got rid of that virus! I hate it when my computer has a runny nose... it gets sO cranky!

I should try some of that hand cream... it might replace my two Hershey Kisses for bedtime relaxation! LOL!

Wow, great cover. Congrats, that just makes it that much more real, doesn't it?

We caught a stupid virus, too, last weekend and we have virus protection too. It was a nasty one. Thank goodness hubby knows what to do.

I have got to look for that lotion next time I get to the big city. I love minty lotion. They had one called twisted peppermint that I really loved. Vanilla Minty.

Hi there!

This is a really good meme. I like memes who makes people share and talk about themselves. I'm sort of bored with the usual photo taking pictures, haha!

Viruses, excuse my language, are a bitch. The worst viruses are the ones who creep up on your hardware and makes the computer useless, rendering you to buy another one! Always update your Anti-Virus!

Congratulations on your book! Really creative cover too!

Once you get a virus, it seems like it takes FOREVER to get rid of it. Congrats on your book...my 3 boys are also each 3 years apart. I look forward to reading it!

Sweet book cover! Congrats on the publication. And the fence :)

Yes, the Festival of Books was great! I think the best part (other than being with family) was attending the lectures.

Wow, so many things to joy in!

My blessings were getting over a cold and getting most of the garden tilled. Next week I'm sure it will be starting the planting. Fun!

That is so exciting about your book cover and the book to come. Love your hellos and goodbyes - esp the virus. Isn't it good to have professional help at a time like that?!
