Words To Start Your Week

Monday September 27, 2010

"Lay hold of something that will help you,
and then use it to help somebody else."
Booker T. Washington

Remember a time you needed encouragement and found just the right word?
Pass it on.

Take a look around. See a mom who needs encouragement or just a smile and a kind word? You know, the little nod that says, "I've been there" and implies, "You'll make it through, too."

Sometimes it's just listening that means the world to an outnumbered mom. She doesn't expect you to have all the answers -- she just wants to know that someone cares enough to listen.

It's amazing what a little compassion can do -- both for the giver and the receiver.

Give it a try this week.

So true. It's such a gift to have others in our life willing to share. Others like you!

I have a Week In Words post on Mondays in which we share quotes that speak to us -- this would be perfect for it if you'd like to link to it. :-)

It's neat sometimes when God brings along those little unexpected ideas to encourage someone along the way -- had a nice talk with a young mom of two darling boys last week at our new church and I think I was able to encourage her a bit. I am not "on the lookout" for such opportunities as I should be, and I want to try to amend that, but the Lord dropped this one in my lap before I ever realized it.

I love this. You always find the greatest quotes! My sister is a lot like you; she finds such wonderful sayings, too. I wish she would start a blog to share her quotes.

Thanks for being such a ray of sunshine.
