Living gladly.

Living gladly.

Sounds like an admirable goal.

Stay tuned for my #5 to find the source of that gladness.

Glad to be back posting today!

Life is a whirl right now, and I missed two weeks of recounting my blessings.

I’m back, linking up with Susanne of Living to Tell the Story, sharing my five faves from the week.

This week’s blessings:

1. A quick moment to write this post. I have been so very busy with teaching—both high school and college—this past two weeks, that I’ve barely posted at all. I’ve missed it and felt compelled to get back to the computer. Glad to have this moment. I keep telling myself, “This is for a season.”

2. Teaching college. It is just awesome. I am really loving it. As I posted on Facebook the other day, my high school teaching enriches my college teaching and vice versa. Blessings all around!

3. Support for our India belle. My son Jonathan and his sweet wife Kristen are being featured this week on Give 1 Save 1 – Asia. The concept is for those who read to give a dollar to help bring a child home. Those dollars add up, and every little bit helps. There’s a nice post and their adoption video posted over there—so click on over and get to know them!

4. Some good deals. My college boy did some shopping on me before he left this fall, and he got a great coupon that could be used in September. I just used it during a great sale, and I came home with some much-needed new clothes! I don’t shop much, so when I do, I make up for lost time…

5. A quote:

“The greatest honor we can give almighty God is to live gladly because of the knowledge of His love.” (Julian of Norwich)

This made me think. Do I live gladly? And is the source of my gladness the knowledge of His love?

Wishing you real gladness this week,

Great quote! Living gladly! YES! Will check out your link later this weekend when I am not in a rush! So happy all of your teaching is a blessing to you. I am seriously thinking about going back as master teacher instead of TA at some point after Claire graduates but.....I also feel like I am getting too old for my fave age of preK kids! Definitely something for me to pray about. I love shopping!! It's on the agenda for Sat if we get the rain that is predicted. Enjoy your weekend.

With you on teaching college. I have taught kinder, elementary, high school and currently college. The latter is the easiest for me and it's where I have the most fun. "Give gladly" - a wonderful thought to always remember.

Wow, your plate sounds very full but you also sound so happy and inspired. Yay for coupons for new clothes. I always like that! Great quote again as usual. We could all use a reminder of that from time to time.

I'm the same with shopping. I'm not fond of it, so I try to get everything I might possibly need for a while at one outing. I enjoy a lot of online shopping, too. Coupons for shopping are an added boon!

Glad your classes are going so well and the feature for adoption!

I love your Friday lists, Laura and this quote is wonderful. Remember I sat in Julia's cell in England just about a year ago. And thrilled the college classes have turned out so well for you. Wonderful opportunity.

I love your quote! And I needed to read it this week. Thanks!

My hubby loves teaching college too-- I think I'll stick to the little ones :) But it's true that one class will often enrich the other.

It's a quote to remember. Seems like you have been applying it through this busy season of life. While I was waiting for some work on my vehicle, I found a book (probably someone's forgotten text book) with short stories and their analyses. It felt great to spend a few hours reading like that -- felt like being back in school ;-)

I've taught from K-through Gr9, but never high school or college - unless you count teaching adults in studies. And I suppose you could. My adults are generally highly motivated - which makes teaching a joy. Glad you're enjoying your classes - that makes teaching such a pleasure. Also, glad for your new clothes - new clothes are nice especially with coupons!

It's been awhile since I came to say hello! This was a sweet post! So glad you are doing well and finding blessings in all of your teaching! Will you teach college just for this semester or is this long term?

Great quote. Making me think!
