Making Me Grateful

Tuesday November 2, 2010

What’s God doing in my life these days? He’s making me grateful.

I’m taking time this month to concentrate on thankfulness – a natural for November.

Here are a few things I’m grateful for today.

When I got to school this morning, a colleague had emailed me to say that she was praying for one of my classes today. I love this class, but they’re a handful. Rather exhausting. I’m thankful for insightful colleagues – she knew I needed prayer today.

With my tongue planted firmly in cheek, I have to say I am SO glad elections have taken place and the ads will end. Honestly, I’m awed by the privilege of standing in line before the sun peeks out with a cross-section of our country, waiting to cast our votes.

I got an encouraging call from my oldest son today. He’s out there promoting my book, giving copies to the influencers he has contact with. He called, excited about someone else’s excitement over my book. Very neat.

I could go on and on. There’s so much to be thankful for, just in this one day.

But most of all – I’m thankful for grace. For One who loves me more than any other. Who has my times in His hands.

I’m thankful that He’s working in my life…making me grateful.

Is there something you're thankful for today?

Linking up today with Finding Heaven. Go see!

I completely agree - I am so thankful election day is almost over. It seems like it gets worse each election...

I love the idea of sticking with this theme all month, and by the way, you don't look like you could have a son old enough to be "out promoting" your book. Really? I mean unless he is riding around the neighborhood on his bike, I just don't see this. Good job, you!

I love being thankful! i have been doing thankful thursdays for 13 weeks now. would you like to join my blog hop this upcoming thursday [or every thursday] and put your top ten thankfuls? i think a lot of my readers [about 100-300 a day] could benefit from your book. lots of mommies with small children like me!

As a Canadian I have to admit that I think of Thankfulness in October. However, I like your take on being grateful.

Well, I'm in awe that you look young and you have a book AND you have a son old enough to promote that book. Hooray for you! I have recently started writing gratitude lists in my journal during my quiet times and it helps so much with my mindset the rest of the day. I'm so glad you linked up today and hope you'll return every week! Blessings!

Thankful for sweet friends like you. And that a daughter's health scare turned out to be nothing to worry about. Very thankful, on both counts!

I'm thankful we live in a country where I don't fear for my life while heading to the polls. I'm thankful that the One I serve is in control of it all despite who is elected.

I too am so thankful that Election day is finally over. I was getting weary.

Love the theme of thankfulness this month. I know my heart could use an attitude adjustment with this today.

Love that your son is promoting your book -- that is the sweetest!

I am thankful that we still have warm(ish) weather to enjoy in Nebraska -- I am dreading winter!

What a great theme for this month. I'm grateful that my daughter seems to be getting better...she has been sick the last 4 days. I'm so glad she seems to be on the upswing :)
