Keep Me Faithful

Tuesday August 16, 2011

Last week I wrote about walking through doors...waiting expectantly to see what He has in store.

Yesterday’s post, “Keep Me Listening,” was a note to self: Keep your eyes on His face.

And today? As I anticipate His work and listen for His voice, I’m reminding myself to be faithful to today.

I find it easy to be anticipatory (maybe I live in the land of wishful thinking a bit…) and when I do, I just may be so forward thinking that I miss the blessings of today.

So today I’m asking Him, “Keep me faithful to the steps in today’s path. Help me to see every bug and bird and leaf and smile, hear every giggle and sigh, sense the breaking of a heart nearby.”

Keep me faithful to today, Lord.

Oh..."to be faithful to today". I love the way you expressed that! May this be the prayer of my heart, too-

Oh...yes...I have always struggled with forward thinking...too far ahead...now enjoying the blessings at hand.

God has been talking to me about this (because I'm tired and school starts next Monday and oh, that is tempting to look forward to...). But the truth is, I don't want to wish away time with my kids. Monday will come. There is nothing I can do to slow it down or stop it. My break will come. But what I have now is a gift and I want to take advantage of it to the fullest. I'm setting out to enjoy every second.

This is my prayer too! May we see and experience all He has for us and not miss anything or anyone He has put in our path!

A lovely post!

I know I am guilty of missing the blessings of today! I get so future focused that I sometimes forget to just enjoy where I am.

Missing the blessing of today. I'd love to write about that. Maybe God will allow me soon. I think I have a bit more to learn about that topic first. Thank you for being tuned to God's desire for your topics.
