Fall adventure – sounds great, doesn’t it?

I’m linking up with Susanne from Living to Tell the Story for Friday’s Fave Five, where we share five blessings each Friday.

Here are my favorites from this week:

1. Movies. There are two movies coming out this fall that I can’t wait to see: Les Miz and Anna Karenina. Trailers for both are breathtaking. Just beautiful.

2. Fall. My husband is planning a surprise trip and he has shared that it will involve fall weather. That excites this South Florida girl!

3. A nugget from my Old Testament class this week:

God promised to take Abraham to a new land and give him descendents that number as the stars. Then He gave Abraham a land in famine and a wife that was barren. Why? Because God’s promises are impossible unless we let go and, in faith, let God fulfill them in His time, in His way.

4. Beach Day! It’s Homecoming Week at our school, and yes, we take the entire high school to the beach. That’s about 400 kids if they all show up. It’s a fun day, complete with Powder Puff Football, Tug of War, and lots of great fellowship. It was great!

5. This quote:

“Adventure is inconvenience rightly considered.” (G.K. Chesterton)

What a great concept! I can’t say I always see inconvenience this way, but I’m working on that perspective.

Wishing you adventure this week,

I'm hoping the Les Mis movie turns out well. It looks great in the trailers.

Beach Day sounds fun!

I'm loving the fall weather. The leaves are just starting to turn. I'm glad you will get to see some of that.

I don't have Chesterton's perspective on inconvenience at all and need to cultivate that.

Great list. Interesting to ponder that OT lesson. Never thought of that in that way before.

I LOVED reading Anna Karenina back years ago....am hoping the movie is just as good. As for Les Miz....well....I have been wanting to see it on the stage....and just haven't spent the money yet...and to think of it as movie....(i haven't seen the trailer)....well...maybe I'll go....it's one of my very fave novels for sure! Can't wait to learn of where you are headed for this surprise trip!! maybe the ADKS??? lol

Oh, I wonder if you guys will get to go to the mountains to see fall ...

Glad Beach Day was a success. It would give me nightmares to think about taking 400 students to the beach ...

But hey, guess the inconvenience of taking them turned into an adventure!

It's a pity that I am not a Southern girl, but living in the midst of awful autumn weather :) ! 400 kids at the beach ?? Oh my !

What an encouraging nugget of truth from an old old lesson. Thanks for sharing that. Sometimes the things we pray for haven't been promised by God, but it helps to know that impossible circumstances certainly don't thwart Him.

I was wondering if you were going to get fall. But if you're taking high schoolers to the beach, the weather must still be summery. Enjoy your surprise trip!
