Resting, not Striving

Sunday October 7, 2012

Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted
among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
(Psalm 46:10, NASB)

I’m writing about rest every day this month, and Deidra Riggs’s quiet Sunday Community seemed just the right place to be this morning.

Cease striving…rest.
Know that He is God.

Then He will be exalted, not me. The praise will go to Him, where it belongs.

(Thanks, Jeannette Edgar, for reminding me of this verse yesterday.)

Blessings on your Sunday,

Laura, love the photo you chose to illustrate your post. I imagined myself lying in a hammock looking up into that tree-framed sky. I feel calmer just looking at it!

Hope you have a wonderful, peaceful and rest-filled Sunday!

Love how the trees point skyward, where our focus should rest. So soothing!

Amazing... rest is so simple yet so very hard for most of us.
