Give me a restless heart.
Restless? How could that be my wish?
The answer lies in the words of one of the greatest Christian thinkers of all time, Saint Augustine:
“You stir man to take pleasure in praising You, because You have made us for Yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in You.”
I’ve prayed that for myself, and others—may I find no rest, Lord, until I rest in You.
So much glitters, beckons, promises happiness, peace, and rest. But as Augustine tells us, we’re made for God and our heart can only rest in Him.
May I be restless for only You, Lord.
